I have started twisting balloons as a reward for children in my Sunday school class about 19 years ago. Most of what I made at that time was from books by Ralph Dewey. I also found that there was a group that met in Ontario and then later in Riverside called the Association of Christian Entertainers. This is where I first met Ken Stillman (Flash), I sat in his classes whenever I could. I continued to twist balloons for kids at church, moving out of the classroom and into the courtyard at Community Baptist Church in Alta Loma. Most Sundays I am still there between services twisting balloons for any kid that can tell me a Bible verse or a Bible story.

In 2007 I went to Diamond Jam in Arizona. There I met Ralph Dewy for the first time, much of what I do still comes from Ralph’s books. As the year continued I took what I learned at Diamond Jam and started doing bigger and more challenging things including Décor. By the end of 2007 I was thinking this may not be just a hobby anymore.

In 2008 I began investigating what it would take to make a business of my balloon hobby. So on April 1, 2008 Ron’s Balloons was started. Since I had to get a sellers permit and a business license, I started looking at balloon toys I could sell just because they were fun.

Now I am still doing balloon animals at church. I do parties and events with either balloon twisting or balloon décor and occasionally both décor and twisting. I have become a retailer for Schylling Toys; I am a Balloon Head Quarters member and a member of the Qualatex Balloon Network. I am listed on the My Party Planner website.
